What's the best way to visit Abu Simbel from Aswan?

Three options. The most common is by road (about 3 hours each way) leaving very early — many tours depart around 4am so you reach the temples soon after they open and before the heat. There are also short domestic flights from Aswan (roughly 45 minutes) if you'd rather not do the long drive. If you have more time and budget, a Lake Nasser cruise reaches Abu Simbel by water. Whichever you choose, aim to be there in the early morning for the best light and fewest crowds.
